Earrngs 3D SOUTACHE “Young Ferns”
Level * * * *
I’d like to present a slightly different approach of sewing jewelry with colorful braid cords to all lovers of soutache. This is an example of soutache jewelry that allows to create three-dimensional forms, as opposed to traditional designs. 3D Soutache Technique allows to forgo dull and not-so-esthetically-satisfying backings (usually done with felt, thin suede or leather). Finished works are like small sculptures and can be viewed at any angle.
To make these earrings, you will need four colors of soutache braid cord (in this case four shades of green, from celadon to khaki) and three kinds of beads. You can use single, or many color of beads.
Supplies needed (for ONE earring):

– Celadon: 50 cm,
– Pale green: 50 cm,
– Dark green: 50 cm,
– Khaki: 2×30 cm and 2×15 cm;
Beads:
– 2mm round beads: ~100 pcs
– 10/0 rondelle beads:~ 100 pcs
